| Catalog Notes | A publisher's mock-up in which the text consists of newsprint clippings pasted to blank leaves. Titles, statements of responsibility, and publisher's name transcribed from upper cover. Titles appear on printed paper labels affixed to cover. In beige cloth with pictorial frame design on upper cover printed in black ink. Design signed, "HBM." Two other McLoughlin Bros. bindings bear this signature: one is dated [ca. 1905]; the other was issued [ca. 1914]. Paper title labels colored in red ink. Endpapers bear a chromolithographed floral design. McLoughlin Bros. published in New York from 1858 until 1920, when the firm was sold to Milton Bradley and moved to Springfield, Mass. |
