| Catalog Notes | An alphabet with a metrical psalm verse, a Bible verse, and an illustration for each letter. "This small book was prepared for the press, and presented to the publisher, by a lover of little children, with a view to help the rising generation; conceiving, as he expressed, that it is the little works that are calculated, by their general circulation, to be the more useful; while those that are larger, though very good, on account of their price, get into the hands of but few."--p. [4]. Variant issues noted; issue in hand bears an illustration on p. [30] depicting a zebu facing right. Another issue bears a similar illustration of a zebu facing left.
