Title and imprint statement transcribed from upper cover. Other variant issues: one issue has a chromolithographed plate featuring the illustrations, "Sailing in tubs," "Giving baby air," "Patty on the fence," and "Trumpeter." Another issue has a hand-colored plate of "Spring flower gatherers," and "Village street." "Aunt Louisa's big picture books ... comprises some sixty kinds" [i.e., sixty-three titles listed] ... "Afternoon tea ... price 15 cents"--publisher's advertisement, inside lower cover. The catalogue of McLoughlin Bros. toy books (1886) includes extremely similar descriptions of these titles.
