| Catalog Notes | An alphabet in verse. Wrapper title. Caption title: The ladder to learning, by Miss Lovechild. Attributed to Eleanor Fenn, who often wrote under the pseudonym "Mrs. Lovechild," in the supplement to NUC pre-1956. Not listed among her works in the New Cambridge bibliography of English literature, 1971. Edition statement transposed from head of title. Gray, Sprague & Co. were located in Albany from 1851 to 1854. One copy in hand bears an owner's inscription dated 1852. Pagination: 2-3, 6-7, 10-11, 14-15. Illustrations colored by hand. "Marks' colored toy books"--series title and list, p. [4] of wrapper. |
