| Catalog Notes | Issue in hand is similar to a cloth bound edition published between 1863 and 1870. However, the titles of the poems in the issue in hand are set in boldface type, compared to the clothbound issue, which is set in thin type. "McLoughlin Bros. publishers 30 Beekman St. N.Y."--at foot of lower cover. McLoughlin Bros. was located at 30 Beekman St. between 1863 and April, 1870. (See obituary for John McLoughlin, Publishers' weekly, May 6, 1905.) In stiff-paper cover. Cover printed in red, green, and black ink. Wood engravings signed by Edward. P. Cogger. Publisher's advertisement, lower cover, contains ads for the Little boys and girls library edited by Sarah Josepha Hale, and Six stories by Mrs. Elliot. |
