| Catalog Notes | Twenty-nine of the thirty leaves bear printed panels affixed to each leaf. The first leaf is affixed to the floor of a box. The rectos of the leaves bear the letters A-N, and an engraving of a boy and a girl reading. Verso leaves bear an engraving of two children reading, the letters O-Z, and an engraving two children praying. Apparently issued by the publisher in a 50 x 35 x 20 mm. stiff paper box. Inside floor of the box bears a wood engraving of a deer. Box is covered in aqua colored paper. Box top bears a chromolithographed pastoral scene of boaters passing a gothic building. Publisher's imprint statement transcribed from a printed slip of paper affixed to the bottom of the box. "Diam'd, 64mo."--at foot of printed slip. |
