| Catalog Notes | Stories and poems with pictures. Series transposed; precedes imprint on title page. "2183"--inventory number, front cover. According to extant McLoughlin publisher's catalogs, no. 2183 is first listed as the inventory number for Little chatterwell series in the McLoughlin Bros.' order list for 1917. The series had the inventory number 703 in 1910 and 2179 in 1914. Just above the inventory number on the front cover is the McLoughlin publisher's device of two owls with the motto, "Educate-amuse" above them and surrounded by a circular border with "Books and games McLoughlin est. 1828." Cover chromolithographed; illustrations produced by a photomechanical process. Illustrations signed by Jane M. Dealy, "L.L." (i.e., Lizzie Lawson?), "Romney," "C.T.G."
