| Description | Alphabet in rhyme with pictures. Apparently, the front wrapper was removed from the original binding and affixed to an oblong publisher's cloth covered album book with blank gray paper leaves. The pictorial chromolithographed letters providing the text are individually die cut, and seems to have been cut out by a former owner and affixed to the gray leaves. The album bears the label of the Heinn Specialty Co., which was established in 1896; cf. https://www.heinnchapman.com; Title, imprint, and series from front cover. Series transposed; precedes imprint on cover; Another title in Father Tuck's little treasures series, Doggy's doings is cataloged in Worldcat as having a copyright date of 1898, according to the bibliographic record provided by the University of Florida; "Publishers to the Queen."--foot of cover; adjacent to this statement is the trademark of Raphael Tuck & Sons consisting of an easel bearing the initials "RTS," and a palette below it with the sign, "Artistic series," and "no. 2520" (inventory number). |
