| American Antiquarian Society Copy Notes | Subject: Image of American soldiers seen fighting off British troops at the Battle of Monmouth, during the American Revolution. Wounded soldiers are seen in the foreground, and Molly Pitcher and children are seen loading a cannon at right. Only a stream separates the two sides. Notes: Part of a set or series of ten or twelve prints depicting scenes from the Revolutionary War. Copies from this series of prints held by Huntington Library have lithographer's statement: Kurz & Allison, 76 & 78 Wabash Ave., Chicago. Kurz and Allison were located at 76 Wabash Avenue from 1885 to 1896. |
