By Henry William Dulcken; text copied from The golden light (London: Routledge, Warne, and Routledge, 1865). Issue in hand bears a slip typed [by former owner Charles E. Miller?]: 1865 printed with gold ink. "Half-hours with the Bible. Square. 32 pages. 12 kinds. Price fifteen cents each. ... Golden light series. Price 15 cents each. An earlier trade catalogue published in 1867 describes Half-hours with the Bible as having only six titles, and the Golden light series is not mentioned. Cover and illustrations chomolithographed. Illustrations copies from those made for the Routledge, Warne, and Routledge edition by Alfred Walter Bayes and engraved by the Dalziel Brothers. |
