"Flowers of spring-time" (another folio ATS children's book edited by Helen C. Knight) is mentioned in the annual report of ATS dated May 9, 1861. Mention of Golden threads in extant annual reports for that period has not been found. A reference to "the terrible rebellion" (i.e., Civil War) appears on p. 61. Text printed in two columns.
