| Catalog Notes | "This little volume is addressed to no special sect or denomination."--Preface, p. [4], signed: H.W.D. By Mrs. Grive. NUC pre-1956 contains an entry created by Harvard University Library for an 1853 London issue of Happy Sundays published by Dean and Son. According to the entry, the London issue bears an added title page that attributes the work to Mrs. Grive. "Electrotyped by Vincent Dill, 25 & 27 New Chambers St., N.Y."--verso of title page. Vincent Dill was located at 25 & 27 New Chambers St. between 1867 and at least 1880. In blue cloth with title in gilt. Upper cover bears a chromolithographed label portraying Jesus riding an ass. Textual illustrations variously signed by Edward P. Cogger, C.J.K. (i.e., Charles J. Knapp?) (p. 59), Jackson (p. 93), and John Karst (p. 323). |
