Cover transcription: Little plays for little players[.] Little Red Riding Hood and The frog prince[.] McLoughlin Brothers, New York. Copyright 1883 by McLoughlin Bros. McLoughlin Bros., Inc. was located at 71 and 73 Duane St., New York, between 1871 and 1886. "The little showman's series."--series description and list, lower cover. According to ribg and cmcg book records in RLIN, the large size editions of the Little showman's series (featuring the seasons) were published in 1884. McLoughlin catalogues for 1883 through 1885 were not available. Pictorial design of a stage scene from Little Red Riding Hood on upper cover is the only illustration. Stiff-paper cover printed in color.
