| Catalog Notes | In verse. Caption title: History of Old Dame Trot, and her comical cat. Title, imprint statement, and series transcribed from p. [1] of printed wrapper. Series transposed from head of wrapper. The firm of McLoughlin Brothers is listed at 30 Beekman St. in New York directories from 1863 until April, 1870. See obituary for John McLoughlin, Publishers' weekly, May 6, 1905. Variant issues noted: issue in hand contains publisher's advertisements listing Uncle Frank's series at 6 cents each; another issue has a publisher's advertisement listing the same series at 5 cents a title. "Electrotyped by Vincent Dill, no. 24 Beekman Street, New York."--at foot of p. [4] of wrapper. Vincent Dill was located at 24 Beekman between 1859 and 1866. Wrapper printed in red and black ink. "Uncle Frank's series ... Colored toys ... price 6 cents each."--publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper. Wood engravings are hand-colored. Cover engraving signed by Edward P. Cogger.
