| Catalog Notes | Rhyming alphabet with pictures. Text signed on p. [11]: Father Tuck [i.e., Raphael Tuck]. Title and series from front cover; imprint from colophon, back cover. "Publishers to their Majesties the King and Queen." Queen Victoria died in 1901. Copy has inscription dated 1911. The publisher was first called Raphael Tuck & Sons in 1881; the name changed slightly to Raphael Tuck Sons, Ltd. in 1895; Raphael Tuck & Sons had offices in Berlin ca. 1907-1915, and in Montreal ca. 1907-1913; cf. Blair & Margaret Whitton in their Collector's guide to Raphael Tuck & Sons (p. 6). "Untearable linen"--at head of title. "Printed at the studios in England."--back cover. Cover and some illustrations chromolithographed. Has trademark of Raphael Tuck & Sons on back cover consisting of an easel bearing the initials "RTS," and a palette below it with the sign, "artistic series."
