| Catalog Notes | Poetry variously signed by Grace C. Floyd, Edith Nesbit, and "Father Tuck" (i.e., Raphael Tuck). Title transcribed from caption, p. [1]. The Baldwin Library catalogue contains an entry for Rosy cheeks that was published by Ernest Nister (London) and E.P. Dutton & Co. (New York). That issue is described as having 6 leaves and four color plates. Issue in hand is 12 p., and has four full-page illustrations. Book shaped so that head and fore-edge margins are curved. High quality of chromolithography of illustrations is characteristic of McLoughlin picture books published between ca. 1884 and 1900. This title was not located in the McLoughlin publisher's catalogue for 1886; nor was it found in the Confidential price list and telegraph code for 1894'95. Catalogues for the years between 1887 and 1893 were not available. Illustrations variously signed by M. Bowley, Mabel F. Taylor, R.K.M., and Edith Scannell. Full-page illustrations chromolithographed. |
