A boy stands and a woman kneels at right and look at a large grave monument, which reads "Sacred to the memory of," at left. A willow tree is behind the monument. In the far right background is a smaller monument and two gravestones in front of a church. Notes: Title from caption printed on gravestone image. Stock number: No. 6. James Baillie was at this address from 1845 to 1847. Local Notes: American Antiquarian Society copy inscribed: Mary J. Sears, died Dec. 7th, 1846. Aged 2 yrs 24 days. This lovely bud so young & fair, called hence by early doom. Just come to show how sweet a flower in paradise would bloom. |
