| Catalog Notes | In verse. Title, imprint statement, and series transcribed from p. [1] of printed wrapper. Series transposed from between title and imprint statement. Written in the style of Heinrich Hoffmann. "McLoughlin Bros., 30 Beekman Street, New York"--publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper. The McLoughlin firm was located at 30 Beekman St. between 1863 and April, 1870. (See obituary for John McLouglin, Publishers' weekly, May 6, 1905.) Publisher's advertisement includes ads for paper dolls and paper furniture. The paper dolls are arranged in four numbered series. The catalogue, List of Toy books manufactured ... by McLoughlin Bros. (New York, 1867) contains listings for these four series, but series one and two are comprised of two subseries; the second subseries of series one and two are not listed in the publisher's advertisement in the issue in hand.
