| Catalog Notes | By Mrs. Anne Ritson. Wrapper imprint varies: Northampton. J.H. Butler. John Metcalf was a printer in Northampton, Mass., from 1832 to about 1862. Judging by dated imprints in RLIN, J.H. Butler published as an individual in Northampton from 1834 to at least 1847. From 1835 to 1842 Butler and Metcalf published a large number of children's books together. In printed wrapper. At head of p. [1] of wrapper: 4.
