| Catalog Notes | Includes the poem, "Spring. How we amuse ourselves in doors," p. [2]. A folder with 2 pages printed on one side of the sheet. Features a pop-up illustration consisting of two free-standing paper panels representing seven children amusing themselves in a parlor. One of the children (a girl with moveable arms and waist) appears to rock a cradle holding a baby. This three dimensional scene measures 22 x 26 x 11 cm. Title, imprint statement, and series transcribed from upper cover. Series transposed from head of cover. "50 cent books. No. 154.--The little showman's series--large size. Four kinds. Tableaux, viz.: ... Spring" --Catalogue of McLoughlin Bros. toy books, (1886), p. 11. Book is oriented so that spine is at the head of the cover. Cover and tableau printed in color by a relief process (zinc etching). "Sample page of our new object teaching book--in outline. ... Price 50 cts."--publisher's advertisement, lower cover.
