| Catalog Notes | Pictures with verse captions. Some leaves have two pictures. Title, imprint statement, and series transcribed from upper cover. Series transposed from head of cover. Probably an unauthorized issue of a London F. Warne & Co. edition published in the 1870s. Publisher's advertisement, p. [4] of wrapper, includes Over the hills "with designs by Miss Ida Waugh." Over the hills was copyrighted by McLoughlin Bros. in 1882. Several other works mentioned in advertisement were advertised as "New stock for the seasons of 1882 and 1883" in the McLoughlin Bros. catalogue for that year, including The cruise of the walnut shell, Hans Thumbling, and Afternoon tea. Both the catalogue and the advertisement price these titles at 18 cents each. Cover printed in color. Illustrations chromolithographed. |
