A copy of Tit, Tiny and Tittens the three white kittens published by Thomas Nelson in 1864 held at the British Library has the statement of responsibility, "by A.L.O.E." A.L.O.E. was the pseudonym of British author Charlotte Maria Tucker. Cover chromolithographed. Lower cover bears a lithograph of a girl leaning on a folding chair looking at a cat. This type of pictorial cover design was characteristic of McLoughlin picture books issued roughly between 1890 and 1910.
