McLoughlin Bros., Manufacturers, 71 & 73 Duane Street, New York."--publisher's advertisement, lower cover. McLoughlin Bros., Inc. was located at 71 & 73 Duane St. between 1871 and 1886. The earliest McLoughlin publisher's catalogue held by the American Antiquarian Society that was printed at this address was issued ca. 1875. (McLoughlin Bros., New York. Catalogue of toy books, ... for 1875-'76 (New York, [1875])). In this catalogue Aunt Louisa's big picture books is described as containing fifty titles. Wrapper and illustrations printed in color. Illustrations designed by Justin H. Howard and engraved by Edward P. Cogger. (This information appears upon the cover of the issue, The cats party.
