| American Antiquarian Society Copy Notes | Subject: Horizontal memorial print has large central tomb. A woman stands on left with elbow resting on tomb and hand across her forehead. A weeping willow is behind the woman and tomb. On the right is a smaller tomb and a number of gravestones. A rose bush grows behind the smaller tomb. A church can be seen in the background. A couple in the distance stops and points at one of the smaller gravestones. Notes: James S. Baillie is listed at 118 Nassau St. in New York directories from 1845 to 1847. Title from caption printed on gravestone image. Local Notes: The American Antiquarian Society copy inscribed on large tomb to the memory of: Lucy Dunn who died Nov. 23, 1842 aged 17 yrs. Mary Dunn who died Feb. 15, 1843 aged 13 yrs. Lucy Elvira Dunn who died 1824 aged 1 yr. Oliver Jackson Dunn who died 1819 aged three years. Inscribed on small tomb: To the memory of John Baxter Derby who died July 11 1842 aged two months. |
