May Bells series is not listed in McLoughlin publisher's catalogues for 1880-81 or 1882-83. This series is listed in Catalogue of McLoughlin Bros. toy books ... (New York [1886]). Catalogues for 1884-85 were not available. Title page and p. [12] are illustrated, to resemble a printed wrapper. Illustrations printed by a relief process in red and black ink. |
