| Catalog Notes | Text interspersed with poems providing moral commentary. Cover title; series transposed from head of title. A version of the story in which an old woman finds the children in the wood and places them in a school of industry. Earlier versions of this variation of the Children in the wood attributed to Clara English. Fisher & Brother was located at 12 North Sixth St., Philadelphia, between 1862 and 1868. The address changes to 9 North Sixth St. in the directory for 1868-69. Fisher & Brother also published at 64 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, between 1855 and 1864. According to the Baltimore directory for 1865-66, the firm name changed to Fisher and Denison. Pagination: [1], 1-14, [1] p. Even-numbered rectos. First and last page blank; pasted to wrapper. "Fisher & Brother's Great big toy books, printed and splendidly colored on all sides. No blank pages: twelve kinds, sixteen pages each ... Children in the wood. ..."--advertisement, p.
