Half title: The life and adventures of Robinson Crusoe. Spine, caption, and running title: Robinson Crusoe. "By arrangement with Messrs. Cassell and Company, London, the illustrations to this edition of 'Robinson Crusoe' have been printed from electrotypes from the original wood engravings."--Publishers' note, verso of title page. Copy in hand bears the inscription, "Edition 1911 #3890." The McLoughlin Brothers' eighty-sixth annual catalogue (New York, 1914), p. 105, has the following entry, "No. 3890.--Robinson Crusoe--edition de luxe size, 7 1/2 x 10 inches This entry ... bound in imit[a]tion of morocco leather ... Tasteful lettering and gilt edges." Title page printed in red, black, gold, and light brown ink. Plates printed in black, white, gold, and light brown ink. Issue in hand bears endpaper design featuring parrots perched on vines. Endpapers printed in white, light brown, and red ink. In red cloth with imitation morocco grain; edges gilt. Illustrations signed by Walter Paget and engraver P. Naumann.
