By Lucy Aikin (i.e., "Mary Godolphin"). Variant issues noted: this issue in printed boards featuring a picture of Robinson Crusoe's face, the face of his dog, and his bird at his right ear. Includes list of illustrations, p. [4]. Another issue is in publisher's cloth binding with chromolithographed label on upper cover depicting Robinson walking under his sun umbrella with his dog, bird, and goat. Bears frontispiece caption, "Crusoe taking a load from the ship to the shore." Does not include list of illustrations. "Electrotyped by Vincent Dill, 25 & 27 New Chambers Street, N.Y."--publisher's advertisement, lower cover. Last page blank. Frontispiece caption: Robinson Crusoe on the raft.--Page 23.
