An English translation of Campe, Joachim Heinrich. Robinson der Jüngere. Campe, in turn, adapted his text from Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. Spine title: Robinson Crusoe. Square format of book, its height (15 cm.), and its typography (including outline boldface) are characteristic of Babcock imprints published ca. 1840-1849. An abridgment of this version by George Tuttle (i.e., "Thomas Teller") and also issued by Sidney Babcock contains a preface dated 1849. In plain boards with leather spine.
