Title and imprint statement transcribed from upper cover. "Transformation toy books. Retail 25 cents each ... Each picture makes four different changes. Handsomely illustrated in colors, with original designs by Howard. Large 16mo. Mother Goose."--Catalogue of McLoughlin toy books, 1882. Publisher's advertisement includes ads for One syllable primer, Linen a.b.c. book, Aunt Louisa's big picture books, and New pantomime toy books. Similar descriptions of the last two named series were published in the forementioned McLoughlin catalog for 1882. Cover included in pagination. Cover and plates chromolithographed. Textual illustrations produced by a relief process. Plates pasted to pages; each plate contains flaps on either side, to expose a new scene when lifted.
