American Antiquarian Society copy has title appearing at foot of cover (literally at Mother Goose's feet), while the photomechanical print of the cover in the 1895 catalog has the title appearing on a diagonal just above the goose's head.

American Antiquarian Society copy belonged to the McLoughlin Bros., inc. business archives; it was purchased from dealer Justin G. Schiller in 1997. Has label, "Plate House copy," and ink stamp, "Plate House." Each sepia (plain) cut inscribed with the illustration inventory number and the number of the box used to store it. Front cover mutilated; lacking Mother Goose's "head."
